Jo Anna Massaro, Esquire Appointed DAP's Associate Executive Director
Friday, October 01, 2004 - Domestic Abuse Project (DAP)

Media, PA October, 2004. The Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Inc. (DAP) has named JoAnn Massaro, Esquire to the position of Associate Executive Director for the Agency effective September 15, 2004. 

Ms. Massaro, formerly Director, Program Services, will continue to direct program/direct service operations at DAP including counseling, emergency shelter, legal services, education and outreach, TANF, and Nana’s Attic - DAP’s retail thrift shop located in Broomall in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center. As a member of the senior management team at DAP, Ms. Massaro also assumes a leadership role in the Agency’s contract management and compliance work with key public funding sources. She will continue her agency liaison work with other human service agencies, to serve on the County’s Domestic Violence Task Force and to liaison with the Court of Common Pleas.

Never far from direct service, Ms. Massaro will continue to represent DAP clients at Protection from Abuse Court on Thursdays at the Court of Common Pleas in the Media Courthouse where she has earned a reputation as an accomplished and seasoned advocate for victims of domestic violence.

For over eight (8) years, Ms. Massaro has represented victims of domestic violence in Delaware County. Her advocacy and legal representation has assisted literally thousands of victims to achieve personal safety and to secure the protection of the courts, thus granting women and their children a new beginning free of abuse and violence.

Family law judges in the Court of Common Pleas depend upon Ms. Massaro’s knowledge and skill for the successful administration of justice in Protection from Abuse court. She is instrumental in the efficient administration of cases while also skilled at gaining the most desirous outcome for her clients. She is a valued colleague sought out by her peers, the judiciary, as well as opposing counsel, due to her reputation as being among the leading experts in the Commonwealth.
