WOMEN'S WAY is the nation’s oldest and largest women’s funding federation. It was
formed in 1977 by seven Philadelphia agencies serving the needs of women and their families. WOMEN'S WAY
provides unrestricted, general operating funds to a network of organizations that improve and enhance
the lives of women and girls throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. WOMEN'S WAY
also effectively advocates for and creates public awareness around the kind of larger, systemic
changes that will continue to advance women’s progress.
WOMEN'S WAY combines annual allocations to its six member agencies with an
open grant-making process for non-member agencies through WOMEN'S WAY’s newly established
Community Women’s Fund.
WOMEN'S WAY supporters include more than 450 business and institutional
supporters, 6,700 individual donors and nearly 300 volunteers. Your contribution to WOMEN'S WAY
touches the lives of over 200,000 women and girls in our community each year.
WOMEN'S WAY members and grantees provide vital services for women
and families. Each year, WOMEN'S WAY allocates critical operating funds to member agencies
addressing a broad continuum of issues that impact women of all ages, races and socioeconomic
backgrounds, with a particular focus on organizations providing services to low-income women
and their families. Member agencies provide services and advocate around issues that include
adult basic education, tenant and consumer rights, rape crisis intervention, domestic
abuse counseling, healthcare options and aging supports.
Current education and advocacy initiatives include the
production of our signature research report, A Change of Pace:
Accelerating Women’s Progress. The report provides a sobering regional view
of the cumulative effects of poverty wages, scarce affordable housing, childcare and healthcare,
threats of violence and insufficient social supports on women struggling to attain economic
self-sufficiency and security for themselves and their families. Monthly electronic Impact
Initiatives challenge WOMEN'S WAY’s constituents to take action on such issues. WOMEN'S WAY’s annual fall conference focuses on developing women’s leadership to impact policy
and decision-making around issues of importance to women and to those who care about them.
A gift to WOMEN'S WAY supports a comprehensive and diverse range
of services. Your contribution to WOMEN'S WAY touches the lives of over 260,000 women and
girls in our community each year. For more information click
