WOMEN’S WAY will host the 32nd Annual Powerful Voice Awards on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in Philadelphia. This year’s theme, Making News, Making Noise, examines the role of women in the news media, explores women’s role as newsmakers and commentators, and looks at how new media has affected women’s involvement. Now in its 32nd year, this event welcomes 1,400 influential supporters from across the region. It is one of the region's largest charitable events of this nature, and is held at the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel. A major networking reception will kick-off the night, followed by an inspiring dinner program featuring our honorees. WOMEN’S WAY’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Powerful Voice Awards will raise one-third of our annual operating budget and is an opportunity to rally past and future supporters around the work of WOMEN’S WAY and the agencies we fund.
The 2009 Powerful Voice Awards is an opportunity for the Greater Philadelphia region to come together to celebrate how far women have come while focusing on the challenges that remain. Making News, Making Noise will serve as a call to action to women everywhere, proving that each can make a difference and increase women’s influence in media.
